King Mohammed VI orders the start of the distribution of food support for Ramadan


King Mohammed VI gave his high instructions to launch the process of distributing food support for the current month of Ramadan, for the benefit of 600 thousand needy families.

As part of its communication, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity stated that “in light of the continued national mobilization launched by King Mohammed VI to fight the effects of the pandemic of Covid-19, and in implementation of the royal royal instructions, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity mobilized to organize the 21st edition of the Ramadan Food Support Process.”

The Foundation pointed out that “this is a fundamental mobilization during the month of Ramadan, so that national solidarity continues to provide assistance and support to people and families living in a situation of fragility, to reduce the social and economic impacts of this epidemic.”

The source continued: “In view of the exceptional context and in accordance with the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity has worked to promote several means to expand the coverage of families benefiting from food support.”

The increase in the number of beneficiary families concerned all regions of the Kingdom, according to the aforementioned communication, according to criteria related to the size of the population, the rural and urban settings, as well as the percentage of poverty and fragility.

“In this way, about three million people from the most needy groups, especially widowed women, elderly people and people with disabilities from the poor and rural communities, will be provided with foodstuffs as part of this process,” the author states.

Thus, the total number was increased to 600 thousand families, an increase of one hundred thousand additional families compared to last year, at a total cost of 85 million dirhams.

The base consists of seven basic materials (10 kg of flour, 4 kg of sugar, 250 g of tea, 1 kg of lentils, 1 kg of noodles, 5 liters of oil and 800 g of tomato center), as a solidarity aid aimed at To alleviate the nutritional needs associated with Ramadan.

This process is organized, says the Mohammed V Foundation for Solidarity, with financial support from the Ministry of the Interior, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, and with the assistance of national cooperation, the Ministry of Health, the Royal Gendarmerie, the Directorate of Social Work of the Royal Armed Forces, national recovery, auxiliary forces, regional and local authorities
